West University Elementary

West University Elementary — a neighborhood school in the heart of West University Place — serves approximately 1,200 students from Pre‑K through 5th grade. We pride ourselves on a warm, community‑focused atmosphere where families know each other and our faculty are deeply invested in every child’s success. Our school is highly regarded statewide and within HISD—ranked in the top 0.5% of Texas elementary schools. We are proud to offer a Vanguard Neighborhood program for Gifted & Talented learners and a robust system of support through our Special Education program.
